Case #6
Innovation doesn’t always mean inventing something entirely new. Sometimes it means re-inventing a thing we’ve always had. Enhancing and optimizing it to the point where application transcends expectations.
“Nothing innovates better than Mother Nature. But can we be inspired and directed by its evolution? Can we take one of the five senses, smell, and use today’s technology to utilize what previously could barely be detected?”
These were the questions posed to us by a client using advanced biomimetic olfactory chips to enable advanced gas sensing and odor detection. New artificial olfactory sensors can monitor the subtlest of changes in the air, and then exploit machine-learning software to process the vast data produced. Once you can intelligently understand the environment around you, you can react to it.
The applications are wide-ranging and transformative. From healthcare intervention to industrial accident prevention. From determining the presence of illegal drugs to the detection of explosive materials. The invisible becomes perceptible and what’s
odorless to humans becomes detectable, and readable, for businesses. Aerium Ventura spent almost 12 months helping the client develop deeply structured productization. We also created and implemented an investor relations strategy that ensured the product got off the ground and maintained a successful path.
The result?
If there’s something in the air, our client’s technology can detect it. We now have business applications that make use of previously unknowable olfactory data. Today we make the invisible, visible.
